In collaboration with Long Island City Partnership, the NYC CTE team is hosting the 2nd Annual Meet & Greet on June 6th at Academy for Careers in Television & Film. The event will bring together a select group of businesses operating in LIC, CTE school leaders, and talented students from eight competitive schools in LIC.
LIC is home to the following schools:Academy for Careers in Television & Film, Academy of Finance & Enterprise, Aviation High School, Energy Tech High School, Frank Sinatra High School, Information Technology High School, Long Island City High School, and Queens Vocational & Technical High School. These high quality CTE schools train students for careers in engineering, plumbing, business, culinary, graphics, media, theater, hospitality and more.
The goals for this meet and greet are:
*To showcase CTE schools and provide an informal opportunity for LIC businesses to learn more about high quality CTE programs in their community
*To provide LIC businesses and CTE schools an opportunity to network
*To provide a forum to discuss synergies between LIC’s businesses and CTE programs

The NYC Department of Education’s CTE team supports 271 programs within 127 high schools located across all five boroughs, which train approximately 120,000 students per year. CTE schools combine rigorous academics with technical training and industry certification. A dedicated industry engagement team supports these CTE schools in developing and managing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in high growth industries.
